The awakening of the female "Shakti", in its modern avatar, never ceases to amaze me. Women, realizing their inner magnificence with the arousal of the "Kundalini Shakti", seem to me to have become more powerful, more resilient and more invincible with every passing day. In the changing mosaic and chiaroscuro of life and after-life, I see "woman" leading her tribe of harlequins and harlots and hell-raisers into the tunnel of light, to a higher plane of consciousness, knowledge and awareness.I feel that her strength stems from her history, long in the making but recent enough in the past. I have seen the images of the transformation. I have seen an abused woman, an ignored woman, a neglected woman, a woman without control. A mother who will deny her breast to her child. A wife shedding transparent tears to covet a diamond ring. I have seen her manipulative and tyrannical, with all the symptoms of insecurity and low self-worth.

And I have seen the transformation. Through a labyrinth of corrosive guilt, deep-seated resentment, poisonous envy, nauseous jealousy and sheer rage emerges an awareness of her all-pervasive sexuality, a realisation of the enormous strength of the umbilical cord-connection to her children, a recognition of the muti-faceted role bestowed upon her that no other sex but her own can enact lover-woman, caring mother, affectionate daughter, diligent home-maker,confident breadwinner simultaneous, seperate, interwoven for a father,a child,a husband or a lover. Now that she has it all,can do it all, she loves herself. The Yin and Yang in her are in a fine balance. Her strength is renewed, her confidence replenished. She is Shakti, the strongest one, the superior one. And she knows it,I believe.
